Fairlight Beach Rockpool is a walled, thirty-meter square swimming area built directly into the rocks at the edge of Sydney Harbour. Unlike many other harbor baths that rely on shark nets, this pool features permanent stone walls, giving it the feel of an ocean rock pool despite its sheltered location. Local citizens in the early nineteen twenties funded half the construction costs, with the council providing the remainder. Shortly after it officially opened in April nineteen twenty-seven, the pool was enlarged to accommodate more swimmers.
