Scienceworks is a science museum housed in a modern building designed with industrial aesthetics, located alongside the historic Spotswood Pumping Station. When it opened on March twenty-seventh, nineteen ninety-two, it was the first major new museum constructed in Melbourne for over one hundred years. The site functions as an interactive center featuring the Melbourne Planetarium, a Lightning Room with a giant Tesla Coil, and various hands-on galleries that focus on technology and mechanics.
