Exford Road cuts through the suburb of Weir Views as a reminder of the area’s early pastoral life. It traces the route of tracks used by nineteenth-century squatters, including Simon Staughton, who arrived in the eighteen-forties to establish the Exford estate. Staughton named his station after his own home in England, and the name eventually attached itself to the road, the local school, and the nearby town.
