Fleischmarkt, or Meat Market, marks the route where medieval butchers once prepared and sold their wares. You can pick out the street today by its narrow, winding path through the heart of the city, lined with ornate architecture that stands in contrast to its bloody origins. These buildings include the Orendi-Hof at number one, a striking Art Nouveau structure, and the Griechenbeisl at number eleven, which has operated as a tavern since fourteen forty-seven.
