The Snijders&Rockox House occupies two adjacent patrician residences on Keizerstraat, recognizable as a unified museum complex where the seventeenth-century burgomaster Nicolaas Rockox and the painter Frans Snijders once lived as neighbors. Rockox, a prominent politician and art patron, transformed his home, Den Gulden Rinck, into a refined space for humanists and collectors. His neighbor Snijders, celebrated for his detailed paintings of animals and still lifes, moved into the adjoining house, De Fortuyne, in sixteen twenty-two.
