The Museo Costumbrista Juan de Vargas sits at the corner of Jaen Street, a colonial-era thoroughfare known for its preserved architecture. Established in nineteen seventy-nine, the museum occupies a two-story heritage building dedicated to the history and daily life of La Paz. It bears the name of the first mayor of the city, Juan de Vargas.
