Yamnuska Ridge & CMC Valley Trailhead

landmark

The Yamnuska Ridge and CMC Valley Trailhead sits at the edge of the Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park. It is marked by a large parking area and a gravel path that leads hikers toward a striking, flat-faced mountain known traditionally as Îyâ Mnathka. While hikers often simply call it Yamnuska, the peak was officially named Mount John Laurie in nineteen sixty-one to honor the educator and Indigenous rights advocate who founded the Indian Association of Alberta.
