The Vermilion Lakes are a series of three calm, marshy lakes sitting in the Bow River valley, just west of the town of Banff. Their most recognizable visual characteristic is the way they hold a near-perfect reflection of Mount Rundle on their still surfaces, a scene that draws many photographers during the early morning and evening hours.
