The most striking feature of this site is Mill Number Three, a twenty-story structure of concrete and steel that clings to the mountainside. Completed in nineteen twenty-three, it remains Canada’s last surviving gravity-fed concentrator mill. For decades, workers climbed its more than two hundred and forty steps to process ore extracted from the surrounding mountains, supporting a site that once ranked as the largest copper producer in the British Empire.
