You are approaching a salmon-pink Baroque palace, framed by slate-blue doors and a distinct green copper roof. Commissioned in seventeen eighteen by Tsar Peter the Great, this building was intended as a seaside summer residence for his wife, Catherine the First. Its name, Kadriorg, literally translates to Catherine’s Valley, honoring her in the language of the region.
