La Piscine - Musée d'art et d'industrie André Diligent de Roubaix

museum

You can pick out La Piscine by the two massive, vibrant stained-glass windows at either end of its central hall. These windows represent the rising and setting sun, casting warm light across a long, tranquil pool that remains at the heart of the building. Once a public swimming facility, the structure was designed by architect Albert Baert and opened in nineteen thirty-two to offer the textile workers of Roubaix a sanitary, luxurious space for recreation.
