The Calanque de Port-Miou is a long, narrow harbor winding between white limestone cliffs. Stretching for one thousand four hundred meters, it is the only calanque located within the municipality of Cassis. Its name, derived from the Occitan term for "best port," reflects its history as a natural refuge for ships seeking shelter from the mistral winds since antiquity.
