The Falaises du Devenson form a massive, vertical limestone wall that plunges up to two hundred fifty meters directly into the sea. These cliffs stretch for two kilometers between the Vallon de l'Oule and Val Vierge, creating a rugged coastline that remains largely inaccessible by land. The name Devenson traces back to the Provençal word devensoun, which originates from the Latin defensum, referring to the slope’s long exposure to the sun rather than any explorer or climber.
