The Mercedes-Benz Museum is a structure of aluminum and glass shaped like a trefoil, with three overlapping circles forming a triangular atrium. Opened in two thousand and six, the building stands near the main gate of the Daimler factory in Stuttgart and follows a double-helix design inspired by DNA. Visitors begin their journey at the top, descending through nine levels along paths that mirror the historical development of the automobile, beginning with the motorized carriage invented by Carl Benz in eighteen eighty-six.
