Gundel Cafe Patisserie Restaurant sits at the gateway to Budapest's City Park, recognizable by its nineteenth-century palace architecture and its historic presence near Heroes' Square. Originally established in the eighteen sixties to cater to visitors of the nearby zoo, the building was rebuilt in its current form for the eighteen ninety-six Millennium Celebrations. It took its enduring name in nineteen ten, when Károly Gundel began managing the property.
