The Sri Someshwara Swamy Temple is marked by a tall, tiered gateway tower known as a gopuram, which rises above the surrounding buildings in the Halasuru neighborhood. This historic site is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and contains a sanctum and pillared hall that date back to the Chola period, roughly a thousand years ago.
