The Sri Dakshinamukha Nandi Tirtha Kalyaani Kshetra is defined by a stone Nandi statue that faces south, a rare orientation for such a figure. Located on Second Temple Street in the Malleswaram neighborhood, the temple sits entirely below the surrounding ground level, lacking a traditional entrance tower. A constant, mysterious stream of water flows from the mouth of the Nandi onto a Shiva Linga positioned directly beneath it, before collecting in a central stepped tank, or kalyani.
