Jal Mahal, or the Water Palace, sits in the center of Man Sagar Lake, appearing to float as its red sandstone walls rise directly from the water. The structure is a five-story building, yet when the lake reaches full capacity, the bottom four floors remain completely submerged. Visitors can only see the top terrace, which features a central garden and four octagonal, domed pavilions at the corners.
