Mandore Garden is marked by a series of four-story red sandstone cenotaphs that rise like temples against the rocky landscape. Before Jodhpur existed, this was the capital of the Marwar kingdom. These structures, known as chhatris, served as the royal cremation grounds for the Rathore rulers. Unlike the typical umbrella-shaped monuments found elsewhere in Rajasthan, these were built to mimic the towering spires of traditional Hindu temples.
