Rayar's mess

Rayar's Mess is a narrow, unassuming eatery on Arundale Street characterized by a persistent queue of people waiting outside for a limited number of seats. Established in nineteen thirty by P. V. Srinivasa Rao, the business began as Rayar's Cafe on Kutchery Road before moving to its current location in nineteen ninety-two. The name comes from a term used by neighbors in Karnataka to address Rao, which stuck as the establishment grew into a local institution.
