The Tegallalang Rice Terrace appears as a giant green staircase, with stepped paddies cascading down the steep slopes of the Ceking valley. These terraces sit six hundred meters above sea level and were carved directly into the hillside by local farmers using simple hand tools to maximize the limited fertile land of central Bali.
