The Serangan Umum One Maret Nineteen Forty-Nine Monument is a stone structure standing near the Benteng Vredeburg fortress. It commemorates a military operation during the Indonesian National Revolution, when soldiers and local fighters reclaimed Yogyakarta from Dutch forces for six hours on the first of March, nineteen forty-nine.
