The Atashgah, or Fire Temple of Isfahan, is a sprawling archaeological complex of sun-dried brick walls and chambers perched atop a prominent hill eight kilometers west of the city center. You can identify the site by the circular, tower-like ruin at the summit, known locally as the Burj-i Kurban or Tower of Sacrifice, which overlooks the Zayandeh River plain.
