Fusiliers' Arch

The Fusiliers' Arch stands at the Grafton Street entrance to St Stephen's Green, a structure of ashlar granite modeled after the Arch of Titus in Rome. Completed in nineteen oh seven, the monument commemorates the officers and men of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers who died during the Second Boer War. Inscribed on the underside of the arch are the names of two hundred and twenty-two fallen soldiers, while the frieze lists battle names including Ladysmith and Colenso.
