Yad Vashem sits on the western edge of Jerusalem upon a ridge known as the Mount of Remembrance. Its name originates from the Book of Isaiah, specifically the promise to provide a memorial and a name that shall not be cut off. This forty-five-acre campus serves as the official Holocaust memorial center of Israel, dedicated to documenting, researching, and commemorating the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators.
