Faro Voltiano

other

The Faro Voltiano stands out as a twenty-nine-meter octagonal tower perched on the summit of Monte Tre Croci. This lighthouse was constructed in nineteen twenty-seven to commemorate the centenary of the death of Alessandro Volta, the physicist born in Como who invented the electric battery. It is designed to be visible from great distances, and at night, its lantern emits green, white, and red beams that represent the Italian flag.
