Torre Gropallo stands along the coastal path of Nervi, identifiable by its sturdy, centuries-old stone profile rising directly above the rocky Ligurian shoreline. Built in the mid-sixteenth century, the structure served as a vital component of the regional defense system created to protect the coastline from frequent pirate raids, including those led by the corsair Dragut.
