Complesso dell'Ospedaletto

The Complesso dell'Ospedaletto stands out for its elaborate baroque facade, topped by heavy sculptural figures of telamones and virtues. Founded in fifteen twenty-seven as a response to a famine that brought countless refugees to the city, the complex began as a series of temporary wooden huts for the sick and needy. Over the decades, these evolved into permanent stone structures, including a church designed by Andrea Palladio and later embellished with a facade by Baldassarre Longhena.
