The Danieli, Venezia, is instantly recognizable by the pointed Gothic arches, white turrets, and rose-colored facade of its original fourteenth-century core, the Palazzo Dandolo. This structure once belonged to the powerful Dandolo family, who produced four of Venice's doges. The palace transitioned into a hotel in eighteen twenty-two when Giuseppe Dal Niel, a proprietor nicknamed "Danieli," began renting rooms there to international travelers.
