Ashinoko Sky Line

other

The Ashinoko Sky Line is a ten point seven five kilometer toll road that traces the western ridge of the Hakone caldera. Opened in nineteen seventy-two, it was among the first of many scenic driving routes in Japan modeled after the Skyline Drive in Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park. The road follows a high volcanic rim, offering a continuous line of sight toward Lake Ashi to the east and the peak of Mount Fuji to the west.
