Cap Spartel is a rocky promontory that marks the northwesternmost point of the African continent. The site features a lighthouse designed with arabesque architectural influences, and it holds the distinction of being the oldest lighthouse in Morocco. From this position three hundred meters above sea level, the promontory sits at the precise geographic junction where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea.
