Htilominlo Pahto

religious

The Htilominlo Pahto rises nearly one hundred and fifty feet above the plains of Bagan, distinguished by its red brick base and the complex, tiered terraces that climb toward a central sikhara tower. Built in twelve eighteen during the reign of King Htilominlo, this structure is recognized as the final major temple constructed in the traditional Burmese style of the Bagan era. Remnants of white stucco still cling to the exterior walls, where traces of intricate carvings depict mythological figures like ogresses and sea beasts.
