Awaroa / Godley Head Campsite sits among the concrete ruins of a World War Two coastal defence battery, perched on cliffs one hundred and twenty meters above the entrance to Lyttelton Harbour. You can identify the site by the weathered military bunkers, gun emplacements, and remnants of a former command post scattered across the windswept headland.
