Cable Car Museum

The Cable Car Museum sits in the original winding house at the top of the Kelburn hill. It is a brick building that housed the massive steam engines and electric winding gear that once pulled cable cars from Lambton Quay up the steep incline. The structure functioned as the nerve center of the entire system from its opening in nineteen oh two until nineteen seventy-eight, when the mechanism was decommissioned.
