Naranji Maharaj in Ruwi is defined by the aroma of fried snacks and traditional Indian sweets that spill out from a storefront resembling a bustling bazaar. This shop grew from the kitchen of Naranji Maharaj, who arrived in Muscat by steam ship in nineteen sixty-six. Before his business formally launched in nineteen seventy-eight, Naranji served as a private kitchen master for local families, preparing traditional goodies for special occasions.
