Jinji Lake is the largest inland city lake in China, a seven point one eight square kilometer body of water defined by the glass skyscrapers and modern urban skyline of the Suzhou Industrial Park rising along its banks. The name Jinji translates to Golden Rooster, originating from a local legend about a celestial creature that descended from heaven to bring prosperity to the land.
