Anyuanmen, known as the North Gate, serves as the northern entry point through the massive fortifications of the Xi’an City Wall. This structure, constructed during the Ming Dynasty and completed in thirteen seventy-eight, remains one of the best-preserved ancient military defense systems in China. The gate complex consists of a series of imposing components, including a gate tower, an arrow tower, and heavy ramparts designed to regulate movement and protect the city from northern incursions.
