This drink, known as emoliente, is built on a base of roasted barley mixed with medicinal herbs like horsetail, flaxseed, alfalfa, and boldo. The preparation is thickened by the flaxseed and finished with a squeeze of fresh lime juice and a touch of sugar or honey.
