Sun Gate

The Sun Gate, or Inti Punku in Quechua, sits on a ridge southeast of the Machu Picchu citadel. It is constructed from stone walls, windows, and gates supported by a system of terraces. The site marks the primary entrance for those arriving via the Inca Trail, standing at an elevation of approximately two thousand seven hundred and forty-five meters above sea level.
