Plazuela Santo Cristo de las Maravillas

The Plazuela Santo Cristo de las Maravillas is marked by a five-meter-tall blue steel sculpture titled Varayoc, which depicts the traditional staff held by indigenous community leaders. This small, open square in the Barrios Altos district sits at the intersection of Jirón Áncash and Avenida Sebastián Lorente. It is adjacent to the Neoclassical Iglesia del Santo Cristo de las Maravillas, a temple named for an image of a crucified Christ reportedly found abandoned in this area during the eighteenth century.
