The Centennial Hall is distinguished by its massive reinforced concrete dome, which reaches forty-three meters in height and features a clear span of sixty-five meters. When architect Max Berg finished the structure in nineteen thirteen, this central cupola was the largest of its kind in the world. Berg intended the building to be a versatile space for the public, even describing his work as a cathedral of democracy.
