Mural by Vhils & Shepard Fairey

In the Graça neighborhood at thirty-nine Rua da Senhora da Glória, two distinct artistic worlds once converged on a single building facade. The mural, created in July two thousand seventeen, featured a woman’s portrait split down the center. One side showcased the bold, graphic stencil style of American artist Shepard Fairey, known for his work on the Obey project and iconic political imagery. The other side utilized the signature chiseled relief technique of Portuguese artist Vhils, who physically carved into the wall to reveal textures and depth.
