The Queluz National Palace is marked by its light-colored limestone facade and a ceremonial layout that defines it as one of the last major Rococo buildings in Europe. Conceived in seventeen forty-seven by the future King Pedro the Third, it began as a summer retreat designed for leisure, featuring expansive gardens filled with statues, fountains, and a long, tile-decorated canal.
