The Katara Mosque is distinguished by its vibrant turquoise and purple glass mosaic tiles that cover its entire exterior. Opened in two thousand ten within the Katara Cultural Village, the structure was designed by the Turkish architect Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu, who is recognized as one of the first women to specialize in mosque design. Its facade features intricate calligraphic panels inscribed with verses from the Quran using twenty-four-karat gold-leafed glass tiles.
