Zărnești Cliffs

natural

The Zărnești Cliffs, locally known as Prăpăstiile Zărneștiului, are defined by towering, vertical limestone walls that rise up to two hundred meters on either side of a narrow mountain corridor. Stretching approximately four kilometers through the Piatra Craiului National Park, this dramatic canyon serves as a major gateway into the Carpathian Mountains. The path follows the bed of the Valea Prăpăstiilor, a stream that often runs underground during the summer, leaving a gravel trail that remains accessible to hikers and cyclists throughout the year.
