The Adriatica-Trieste Block stands near United Nations Square, identifiable by its two massive, distinct wings that meet at a prominent corner tower. Designed by architects Paul Smărăndescu and Petre Antonescu and completed around nineteen thirty, the structure served as the headquarters for the Adriatica insurance company, a Venetian firm that was among the most significant in Central Europe at the time.
