The Al Rahmah Mosque sits upon the Red Sea on a series of concrete pillars, creating the impression that the entire structure floats above the water. Completed in nineteen eighty-five, this white building is widely known as the Floating Mosque. It is recognized as the first mosque in the world constructed directly over the sea, with a low-walled pathway connecting it to the mainland.
