Boulders Beach

natural

Boulders Beach is defined by its sheltered coves and large, rounded granite boulders that have sat on this shoreline for five hundred and forty million years. Located in Simon’s Town, the beach is part of the Table Mountain National Park and provides a rare, accessible habitat for the African penguin. The birds are native to the continent and earned their former name, jackass penguins, from the distinct braying sound they produce.
