Jagalchi Market is instantly recognizable by the rows of blue plastic crates and bubbling tanks of live seafood that line its waterfront edge. As South Korea's largest seafood market, it occupies a prime stretch of the Nampo-dong harbor. Its name derives from the word jagal, meaning the gravel that once covered this stretch of shoreline before years of land reclamation pushed the beach further out.
