The Jumunjin Bangsaje is a stone breakwater that extends into the East Sea, recognizable by the line of gray concrete blocks reaching out from the shore toward the horizon. Originally constructed to protect the coastline from erosion and shifting sands, this structure served local fishing needs for decades. Before its current popularity, it was a quiet spot where college students occasionally gathered by the water.
